Jeff Hughes, Executive Director

Hughes is a seasoned association executive officer who has served as CEO and president for two nonprofit organizations, most recently the Industrial Supply Association and prior to that GAMA International. He is wholly committed to and has consistently demonstrated an ability to provide members with research-based, relevant, and innovative benefits and services and timely, two-way communication.

He began his working life in the food services and restaurant management sector of the hospitality industry. He completed his career in the financial services sector as assistant vice president and learning officer for AXA Equitable/The MONY Group.

Jeff is a graduate of Syracuse University where he majored in personnel-industrial relations, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the university's School of Management. He had subsequent graduate studies in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration at Cornell. Before moving to the Toledo, OH area, he lived in Central Florida with his wife Cynthia where they had the benefit of spending many happy hours together with their three grandsons who lived nearby. Both Hughes and his wife’s roots are founded in eastern Pennsylvania.

Linda Lentz, Sr. Director, Administrative Services

Linda Lentz serves the Society as the Senior Director of Administrative Services. Linda plays an integral role in guiding the administrative affairs of SIOP by working closely with Society Leaders. From developing the annual budget with the Financial Officer and Portfolio Officers, providing support for the Awards and Fellows Chairs, and serving as the liaison for the SIOP Foundation Board, Linda can be counted on to offer first class service. She holds a BBA in finance from the University of Toledo.  Linda enjoys genealogy, golf, and spending time with her husband Bob and children Nick and Miranda.

Jenny Baker, Sr. Manager, Publications and Communications

Senior Publications and Communications Manager Jenny Baker prepares the conference program, TIP, IOP, and many other print and web materials. She also handles much of the conference logistics: designing and ordering t-shirts, designing the conference bag art, preparing printed materials and signage, and shipping all materials to the conference site, as well as preparing artwork as needed. She holds a bachelor’s in Scientific and Technical Communication from Bowling Green State University. Jen and her husband Duane live outside BG in the country with their two dogs, assorted cats, two donkeys, and a goat. Jen enjoys gardening, baking, attending concerts, shopping, camping and traveling, and reading.

Scott Case, IT Business Systems Analyst

Scott is the IT Business Systems Analyst. His responsibilities include configuration, use and troubleshooting of the NOAH association management software system. He also works closely with project owners to understand document business process and project requirements and offer solution options. He also provides support to assist users with installs, updates, and training on current/new application systems. This also includes the creation of documentation for all SIOP members. Prior to SIOP he spent over 20 years in higher education.

 


Michelle Durliat, Member Relations Specialist

Michelle Durliat serves as SIOP’s Member Relations Specialist. Her primary role with SIOP is membership – processing membership applications and renewals, as well as answering phone calls and emails. She also assists with Annual Conference, Leading Edge Consortium, and Board meeting preparations. Michelle has a BA in Communication from Bowling Green State University. During her time at BGSU, she interned with the Ohio Department of Transportation, District Two, in the Real Estate and Public Information Offices. In her free time, Michelle enjoys history, antiques, cooking, baking, and watching documentaries.

Larry Nader, IT Manager

Larry NaderLarry Nader is the IT Manager at SIOP. His responsibilities include database, network, computer, and software management, and helpdesk for SIOP members. He has been with SIOP since 1998. Prior to SIOP he owned and operated a radio station in California for 5 years and a printing/graphic design business for 10 years. He spent 2 years as a technical writer for the Microwave Instruments Division (MID) of Hewlett Packard (now called Keysight Technologies). He has a BA in Communications from the College of Wooster. He attained an FFC general operator’s license to be a radio station Chief Engineer. He has over 30 years of experience with computer technology.

Matthew Haynes, Web Content Manager

Matt HaynesAs our Web Content Manager at SIOP Matthew is responsible for the 0's and 1's of our online presence. Before working at SIOP, Matthew worked as an Online Communications Expert, Web Developer, Graphic Artist and Social Media Manager with Dana Incorporated. Matthew has a bachelor’s in visual communications technology from Bowling Green State University and when he isn't working on the web he's teaching historical fencing with the Toledo Historical Swordsmanship Society.

Madeline Remley, Communications Specialist

Madeline serves as SIOP’s newest Communication Specialist. A native of Toledo, Madeline has a BA, with honors, in Communication from the University of Toledo. During her time at UT, she was involved in organizations such as F.R.O.G. and PRSSA, and served as a representative on the Student Residency Life Committee. Madeline is also an alumna to the Beta Nu Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority. During her 4-year membership, she held leadership roles including vice president of Membership, secretary, Ritual leader, and Standards Board member. Prior to SIOP, Madeline worked in downtown Toledo at Grumpy’s Deli for 4 years. While earning her degree, she helped the restaurant to create platforms on various social media channels and served as their head hostess. Madeline is excited to begin her journey at SIOP as she takes on the responsibilities in the Communication department.

Susan K. Rogers, Business Development Manager

Susan Kesling Rogers, CAE, is Business Development Manager at SIOP. She is responsible for the partner program (exhibits, sponsorships, advertising), I-O Job Network, membership and oversight of continuing education offerings. Susan is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and is accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators and the Public Relations Society of America. Prior to SIOP, she worked in marketing and membership at the Society for Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP). She also worked in marketing communications for Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Susan is married to Rick Rogers, PhD, an historian who teaches at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI. She enjoys travel, museums, historical sites, jigsaw puzzles, reading fiction and autobiographies as well as watching CNN and PBS.

Barbara Ruland, Sr. Specialist, Communications & Marketing

As Senior Communications Specialist, Barbara leads the creation of weekly website content, SIOP’s social media channels, media relations, and video production. Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Publications and Communications, Barbara works with the Communications Specialist, and department interns on event promotions and the production of social messages, Newsbriefs, and SIOP’s White Papers. A native of New Mexico, Barbara has a BS, with honors, in Radio and Television from San Diego State University, and is a Masters Student in the Integrated Marketing Communications Program at Northwestern University’s Medill School.  She worked for over twenty years in television broadcasting and corporate video in San Diego, winning awards for her writing, producing and editing work, before moving to Bowling Green, Ohio with her husband Jeff Betts. Barbara joined SIOP in 2016 after 8 years as the Executive Director of the Downtown Bowling Green Special Improvement District.  Barbara currently volunteers on the Wood County, Ohio Planning Commission.

Jayne Tegge, Sr. Member Services Specialist

Jayne TeggeThe friendly voice answering the phone in the SIOP office is probably Jayne Tegge, who is SIOP's Senior Member Services Specialist. Prior to SIOP, she spent eight years as a librarian, and has also worked at a variety of sales and customer service positions, and even owned a book business at one time. Her responsibilities at SIOP include membership applications, renewals, dues payments and member records, as well as the SIOP Store, and the Executive Board Briefing Book. Jayne graduated from the University of Dayton with a BA in Communications. She and her husband, Tim, have one daughter who is about to graduate from college. Jayne is an avid cook, cookbook collector, food preserver and all things “foodie.” She has a huge garden, and squeezes in as much reading as possible at all times, and occasionally serves as a roadie for Tim, who is a part-time singer/songwriter.

Mariah Clawson, Communications Intern 

Retweets, mentions, and hashtags fill a normal day at SIOP for Communications Intern Mariah Clawson. Mariah is a Senior Broadcast Journalism student at Bowling Green State University. Mariah works closely with social networks, making graphics, editing video, drafting posts, and following the conversation I-O psychology starts on social media. Mariah is heavily involved on BGSU’s campus. She is the Membership Selection chair for Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity and the managing editor for BG24 News, the BGSU student-run news organization. Prior to her time at SIOP, Mariah completed an internship with the Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida. After graduation, Mariah plans to return to the Sunshine State and work in broadcast television news. Mariah’s interests include everything Disney, binge watching a thrilling television series on Netflix, and a good cup of coffee.
