SIOP Executive Board Plans Dues Increase

by SIOP Administrative Office

Member Comment Period to Take Place February 1-April 1

During the most recent budget process, SIOP's Executive Board proposed a modest dues increase to ensure the Society can maintain high-quality services for its membership. The last time the dues were increased was in 2013.

This 10% dues increase will result in an additional cost of $10 per year for professional members and $5 per year for retired members and student affiliates, bringing professional dues to $110 per year and retired/student dues to $55 per year. The increase will help cover rising expenses and costs of doing business for the Society.

Per the SIOP bylaws, the Executive Board is accepting comments from members for a period of 60 days, beginning February 1 and ending April 1. Members will receive an email February 1 with instructions for providing comments through the SIOP Discussion Forums.

The Executive Board will thoroughly review all member comments before voting on the dues increase at their April board meeting in Chicago.

The dues increase would take effect May 1, 2018. Those members who pay their dues for the 2018-2019 dues year prior to May 1 will not be affected.

Questions regarding the comment process can be directed to SIOP Executive Director Jeff Hughes at jhughes@siop.org or 419-353-0032.
