The Division of Psychologists in Independent Practice (Division 42) has opened nominations for the editorship of its new quarterly journal, titled Practice Innovations, which began publication in 2016. Nominations will be considered until selection is completed, but for optimal consideration candidates should apply before September 15, 2016.

The peer reviewed publication will feature manuscripts of interest to psychological and other mental health practitioners.  Nominate candidates through APA’s EditorQuest website.

Candidates must be available to start receiving manuscripts beginning January 1, 2017 to prepare for the March 2017 issue.

Practice Innovations is committed to publishing articles on the full range of topics relevant to the practice of psychology. Manuscripts with direct relevance to practitioners and practice settings will be prioritized and may include case studies, research, literature reviews.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is knowledgeable in the broad domains of psychological practice, services, and settings.  Previous experience in professional publication and/or editing is expected. Equally important is the ability to function as good manager and maintain the level of work required to sustain the journal's production for the 5-year term.

The editor must exercise good judgment in the selection of consulting editors and reviewers and be able to communicate editorial decisions effectively and sensitively to diverse authors. Above all, the editor is expected to maintain the highest ethical and professional standards with respect to scholarly publication.

Please note that participation by members of underrepresented groups in the publication process is encouraged and will be welcomed. Self-nominations are also encouraged. Candidates should submit a C.V. and list of up to five potential referees at http://editorquest.apa.org/
