Conference Speed Mentoring Sessions Offer Face Time with Thought Leaders

Research funding and hot topics in the workplace are the two main topic threads at the 2016 Conference Speed Mentoring Sessions, held from 5:00-6:30 on Friday April 15 at the Hilton Anaheim. There is no additional fee to participate in the Speed Mentoring Sessions, but seating is limited and the reservation window is closing soon.

The list of mentors for the sessions reads like a Who’s Who of thought leaders in I-O Psychology. The format, where each mentee gets to participate in two half-hour round table discussions led by a prominent SIOP member with specific expertise in the topic, will be sure to yield great insights and networking opportunities. Click here to learn more about the topics and mentors, and to reserve your seat at the table.

The Science Funding Speed Mentoring sessions, organized by James Grand and Christopher Nye, complement several other conference events focused on improving science advocacy by providing SIOP members with information and resources to more effectively pursue scientific funding opportunities.

The Practitioner Mentoring Sessions, coordinated by Lizzette Lima with help from Natalie Goode and Soner Dumani, present 8 roundtable discussions that highlight a variety of current issues in practice, including employee selection, analytics, development, and management; as well as workplace diversity, influence, and consulting.

Whether you’re a researcher or a practitioner, the Speed Mentoring Sessions can give you a quick professional development boost.  They provide an excellent opportunity to engage directly with thought leaders in your area of interest, while networking with your peers. Get your questions answered in this fast-paced environment that makes the perfect bridge from a full day at the conference to the evening’s social activities.
