by SIOP Administrative Office

Two SIOP Members Recently Elected to APA Council

Results of the American Psychological Association (APA) Council of Representatives election have been received from the APA office.

SIOP is pleased to announce that Fellows Georgia Chao, Michigan State University, and Gary Latham, University of Toronto Rotman School of Management, have been elected to serve as APA Council Representatives for Division 14. The two will be joining the SIOP Executive Board effective January 1, 2016. They will each serve a 3-year term.

The APA Council of Representatives is the legislative body of APA and has full power and authority over the affairs and funds of the association within the limitations set by the APA certificate of incorporation and the bylaws, including the power to review, upon its own initiative, the actions of any board, committee, division, or affiliated organization. Council is composed of representatives of divisions, representatives of state, provincial and territorial psychological associations (SPTAs), and the membrs of the APA Board of Directors. SIOP members who are also APA members are eligible to vote in the election

Chao and Latham will replace Rodney Lowman and Deb Whetzel, whose terms will expire at the end of December. Read the spreadsheet of the election results here.
