SIOP to Hold MBA Student Pre-LEC Event

by SIOP Administrative Office

In conjunction with SIOP’s Leading Edge Consortium in Chicago, iLEAD at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) will host three SIOP members October 16 for a student event that will showcase how the science of I-O at three large global organizations can create positive impact on both the organization and its people at all levels.

During the event, titled “Science for a Smarter Workplace: Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Work at Pepsi, Google, and Intel,”  Allan Church (below, left) will focus on leadership at Pepsi, showcasing LeAD, PepsiCo’s integrated multitier leadership assessment and development process to identify and confirm future potential, and accelerate development of its talent throughout the entire leadership pipeline. Michelle Donovan (below, center) will focus on managers with Google’s Project Oxygen that introduced managers to well-defined performance expectations, a new vocabulary for discussing management challenges, and a framework for manager development programs.  Alexis Fink will talk about building Career Models, an integrated talent management system for all Intel employees that informs selection, performance appraisal, and learning and development strategies.

More than 120 MBA students invited from various UIC classes are expected to attend the event. For more information, contact Jolene Skinner (SkinnerJolene@bfusa.com).
